Primary Purpose:

Under close supervision, provide reception and clerical assistance for the efficient operation of the office at assigned location.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to operate multi-line phone system

Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions

Proficient keyboarding skills

Understanding of and commitment to customer care principles

 

Experience:

One year of clerical experience in an office setting, preferred

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Reception and Phones

1. Receive and direct incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.

2. Greet and direct visitors at the location. Maintain visitor log and issue visitor passes.

3. Assist parents in accessing family resource center and preschool evaluation team.

4. Assist with the receipt and distribution of assessment materials.

5. Receive, sort, and distribute mail, messages, documents, and other deliveries.

6. Fulfill general supply requests for employees at the location.

 

Other

7. Provide clerical assistance as needed, including assisting with the scheduling of appointments.

8. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.

9. Maintain confidentiality.

10. Follow TEA guidelines regarding retention and destruction of records.

11. Perform other duties as assigned.

12. Conduct responsibilities in accordance with customer care principles.

13. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
