Job Title: District Administration Building Receptionist Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt

Primary Purpose:
Under moderate supervision, respond to inquiries from staff, students, parents, and the public; provide requested information and/or referral to the appropriate parties; direct visitors; and provide general reception and clerical assistance for the efficient operation of the district administration building.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED (required)
Some college experience (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to operate multi-line phone system
Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions
Proficient keyboarding skills
Understanding of and commitment to customer care principles
Experience:
One year of clerical experience in an office setting (preferred)
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Reception, Communication, and Clerical
1. Receive and direct incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
2. Greet and direct visitors to central administration offices.
3. Assist public, staff, and students as needed.
4. Maintain visitor log through the Hall Pass system - Obtain Driver’s License, issue badges, ensure visitors are checked in and out via safety protocols
5. Monitor and respond to district email and crisis communication, notifying appropriate parties to address immediate safety and/or security issues.
6. Receive and distribute incoming deliveries, materials, checks, and documents from vendors, parents and community.
7. Provide clerical assistance as needed, including assisting with the scheduling of appointments.
8. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.
Building Maintenance
9. Submit maintenance and operations requests.
10. Manage vending services and orders.

11. Assist with data entry and general system processes as needed.
12. Assist prospective employees with their application process questions.

13. Maintain confidentiality.
14. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
15. Provide coverage for the second receptionist during absences, lunch, and breaks.
