Primary Purpose:
Facilitate the effective integration of technology into the teaching and learning process. Support campus faculty, staff and students in the appropriate use of technology.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
At least (3) years classroom experience
Special Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of TEKS, district curriculum, national standards and expectations
Knowledge of effective design and presentation strategies for adult learners
Knowledge of curriculum and technology used in instructional settings
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to train adult learners
Demonstration of desire to learn and grow professionally
Major Responsibilities:
1. Assist assigned campus faculty and staff in planning effective implementation of curriculum, to ensure that technology is used to meet student TA TEKS.
2. Model and mentor the use of educational technology in all curriculum areas.
3. Share best practices with assigned campus faculty and staff concerning technology and curriculum integration as defined by district technology team.
4. Provide ongoing professional development for campus staff which focuses on the integration of technology and curriculum.
5. Support the district’s Technology Proficiency Plan through training and resources.
6. Assist Director of Instructional Technology in designing instructional modules, materials, aides and activities.
7. Provide training and support for campus Administrator on district wide technology programs (T-TESS, Principalm, Emergency Communication Systems).
8. Provide campus support on all software / instructional programs (including but not limited to: Promethean, TPRI, WebCCAT, campus student software, AEIS-IT On-line).
9. Monitor the use of instructional technology to ensure that resources and activities enhance academic content and are aligned with district mission.
10. Establish and maintain professional and open communication with the Director of Instructional Technology and other Instructional Technology Specialists through meetings, conferencing and other forms of media.
11. Conduct software training and provide on-going support for software products and ensure appropriate software use.
12. Conduct assessment of student technology skills in line with district technology plan and use results to help guide instructional activities.
13. Assist campus and district Technology Committee with planning of technology training (above and beyond district requirements) and implementation of district technology plan.
14. Provide training during Summer Academies and New Teacher Orientation.
15. Support and encourage student participation in “Technology Showcase.”
16. Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
17. Perform all other duties as assigned by Campus Administrators, Instructional Technology Coordinator, and the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum.
