Primary Purpose:
Manage the campus Section 504 program and oversee the provision of needed services. Oversee compliance with all state, federal, and local Section 504 requirements. Manage District and state assessments for the assigned campus(s).
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teacher certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:

- Effectively facilitate Section 504 meetings
- Knowledge of current laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines related to disability discrimination in public schools, including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Texas Education Agency, and the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights (OCR)
- Knowledge of the relationship and differences between Section 504 and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
- Knowledge of accommodations for students with impairments
- Knowledge of District, state, and other relevant testing procedures, regulations, and guidelines
- Student-focused, ability to work effectively with peers to establish positive relationships with all stakeholders
Experience:
Minimum of three years of teaching experience
Elementary teaching experience preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Campus Testing Coordinator
1. Attend all District trainings regarding state and local testing.
2. Coordinate and deliver campus training for state assessments and other campus-designated tests Coordinate and monitor proper testing protocols for all student assessments and provide logistical guidance in all areas of testing.
3. Maintain proper documentation for all components of testing and ensure the security and confidentiality of all testing materials and student information
4. Coordinate all District and state assessment and follow-up processes for the assigned campus.
5. Evaluate individual student data.
6. Train proctors on campus.
7. Prepare rosters for eligible students for testing.
8. Collaborate with staff to ensure documented accommodations are accurate for each student.
9. Manage inventories on all testing materials before, during, and after testing.
Campus Section 504 Coordinator:
10. Attend all District trainings regarding Section 504.
11. Monitor campus Section 504 procedures.
12. Oversee school personnel’s access to and verification of a student’s Section 504 plan for compliance.
13. Maintain proper Section 504 documentation and oversee the security and confidentiality of all student information.
14. Coordinate, plan, and facilitate Section 504 meetings to comply with federal regulations.
Response to Intervention (RtI):
15. Assist with scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, and facilitating campus RtI meetings.
16. Assist with campus processes, timelines, and documentation.
17. Collaborate with staff to ensure proper referral procedures.
18. Oversee the security and confidentiality of student information.
