Primary Purpose:
To help maintain the schools in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma
Fire, Electric, or HVAC license
Driving record that meets the requirements of the district’s insurance carrier
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to calculate, organize and determine needs for a job with limited information
Ability to use digital multi-meter
Ability to troubleshoot problems
Basic computer knowledge
Proficient knowledge of fire alarm, electrical, and HVAC systems
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintenance and Repair
1. Install and maintain fire alarms, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
2. Perform any combination of measures, cuts, and bends wire and conduit, using ruler and hand tools.
3. Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects.
4. Maintain tools and equipment and keep supplies and parts in order.
5. Ensure that all Facilities Fire Alarm systems receive an annual inspection.
6. Remain on call for district identified emergency situations.
7. Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as needed basis.
Safety
1. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing. Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
2. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor. Communication Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with employees.
