PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop by attending to custodial needs of the building during the shift.
QUALIFICATIONS: Training and experience necessary to perform the responsibilities listed below.
NIGHT CUSTODIAN MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Demonstrate acceptable work habits including teamwork, initiative and dependability.
2. Report to work on time each day.
3. Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveway, and play areas neat and clean at all times.
4. Sweep classrooms daily and dust furniture.
5. Clean corridors after school each day.
6. Scrub and disinfects toilet floors daily; clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
7. Wash all windows on both the inside and outside at least twice each year, and more frequently, if needed.
8. Keep the grounds free from rubbish.
9. Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation.
10. Clean all chalk/white boards at least once a week.
11. Shovel, plow, and sand walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps, as appropriate.
12. Remain on the school premises during working hours, and during non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and attendance is required. 13. Move furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities and as directed by the principal/building operator.
14. Comply with local laws and procedure for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste.
15. Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as needed basis. EQUIPMENT USED: Vacuum Buffer Carpet Cleaner Wet/Dry Vacuum Ladder
