Primary Purpose:

Promote safety and well-being of students as they interact during lunch.

 

Qualifications:

Knowledge of basic first aid and training in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Knowledge of campus lunchroom behavior standards.

Skill in coping with a variety of students and varied situations.

Skill in working effectively and cooperatively with school age children and others.

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

 

Student Support

Maintain appropriate discipline and student safety in the cafeteria according to District policies and procedures, including students with food allergies and special needs.

Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, discipline issues, and any other issues to the appropriate authority immediately, or as soon as reasonably possible.

Supervise student behavior during the lunch period to include serving lines, cafeteria tables, and during dismissal.

Assist in resolving parent/student issues and concerns in a timely manner.

Assist in managing student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.

 

Support of Administrative and/or Facilities Functions

Assist students with managing food items.

Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and students.

Provide assistance to campuses/departments as requested.

 

Organization Improvement:

Work collaboratively to improve programs.

 

School/Community Relations:

Interact positively with employees and the community to provide needed information and to promote the District in a favorable manner.

 

Organization Morale:

Participate in decision-making process as appropriate.

Communicate and collaborate with campus/department staff to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.

 

Other Responsibilities:

Comply with policies established by federal and state law, including but not limited to State Board of Education and local Board policy.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress.  Work with frequent interruptions.  Walk, stand, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, and lift up to approximately 20 lbs on a frequent basis. Work is normally performed in the cafeteria with moderate exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases and occasional exposure to physical risk.  Constant interpersonal interactions are required within the educational environment.  Exposure to a moderate to loud environment.
